DHL and Evri have announced plans to merge their UK parcel delivery businesses. Together, they are expected to handle over a billion parcels and letters each year, creating one of the largest delivery networks in the country.
This new partnership brings together Evri’s large network of couriers, designed for high-volume deliveries of everyday items like clothing, with DHL’s fast and reliable service for valuable goods such as electronics.
For customers, the combined network will offer more delivery options and greater flexibility. It will include around 15,000 collection and drop-off points through shops and parcel lockers, making it easier to send and receive parcels at times and places that suit you.
The merger will also see Evri enter the letter delivery market for the first time, using DHL’s existing mail service for businesses. This will support deliveries of smaller items alongside standard post.
Access to DHL’s global logistics network will also help Evri expand its international delivery options, improving cross-border services.
As part of the agreement, DHL’s UK e-commerce operation will be renamed “Evri Premium - a network of DHL eCommerce.” DHL will retain a minority stake in the new business, while other DHL services such as DHL Express will continue unaffected.
What does this mean for you?
The deal is still subject to approval by the Competition and Markets Authority, so for now, nothing changes. Our DHL and Evri services will continue as normal.
We’ll keep an eye on developments and share any updates. If you have any questions, our team is always happy to help.
